Biscuit Brigade
A men’s group that cooks monthly brunches after the 10:00 am service and assists the Fellowship Committee with major events.
Domestic Abuse Council
The bishop has reminded us that domestic violence is something we all should be mindful of. St. James supports the DAC of Daytona Beach by in-gathering of supplies to furnish the shelter. We also offer support whenever it is requested.
Episcopal Relief and Development
Family Renew
Provides long-term housing for homeless and low-income families with children in Volusia County.
Food Ministry
Provides comfort and care in the form of meals to families or individuals.
Funeral Receptions
Provides simple refreshments following a funeral at the request of the family.
Greeters
Greet those attending services, answer questions and direct persons to nursery, Christian Formation, etc.
Halifax Urban Ministries - Bridge of Hope Kitchen
Second Friday of each month, provides volunteers to assist the feeding of the homeless.
Halifax Urban Ministries - Feed-A-Family
Responds to the hungry homeless and low-income people in our area. Feed A Family every Friday from 10:00 am and 2:00 pm, distribute bags of food to people in need.
Jesus Clinic
Provides free medical care to uninsured working families and individuals.
Keeping in Touch Ministry
Notes are sent by parishioners as an expression of support and love to those who are experiencing any one of life’s situations, whether positive or negative.
Lay Eucharistic Visitors
Provides the Eucharist/sacrament to shut-ins.
Mali Medical Mission
Supports the ministry of Dr. Brett McLean in Mali, West Africa
Meals on Wheels
Provides home delivered meals; services to people in need who are homebound.
New Member Connection
As newcomers are incorporated into the life of the parish, St. James will help them find connections between their giftedness and the various ministries of the Church.
Prayer Shawl Ministry
A prayer shawl is a tangible way to bring God’s love to each person. Each shawl is handmade with prayer.
Pregnancy Crisis Center
Provides free pregnancy testing, referral and information for housing, medical care, adoption, counseling, clothing and furnishing for baby and mother.
Rummage Sale
The Friends of St. James
Provides a variety of opportunities and events to support St. James.
Turie T. Small Elementary School
Providing volunteers to assist with reading skills of second graders.
Ushers
Welcome individuals and families as they gather for worship, distribute service bulletins, take up collections, and assist during the distribution of Holy Communion. Serve on teams once a month at 8:00 and 10:00 am services.
Vince Carter’s Embassy of Hope
Addresses the needs of children and families with support of many programs including after school enrichment programs and medical services.
Wedding Committee
In conjunction with the appointed officiate, works with families prior to weddings. Attends the rehearsal and assists on the day of the wedding.
Youth Sleeping Bag, Blanket and Sock Drive
October. 1-31 Drop off in the office or the baptistry in the church. The youth are collecting these items to donate to Halifax Urban Ministries to help those without homes this winter.
